Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University has achieved a high reputation and prestige during its successful course in the field of education and scientific research, and this is inseparable from its prominent role in the service of society, the third function of universities.
Globally, work is being done to find the best strategies in developing higher education and converting the university’s energies into an active tool capable of building a society based on knowledge, creativity, research and development, and harnessing its work in order to serve the community and the surrounding environment, and therefore we must participate in society and engage in its issues, and from this, the Deanship of Community Service and Sustainable Development has worked since its foundation to be the deanship that support all sectors of the university and a mirror that reflects all its achievements in serving the community in the eastern region and outside it. It has also made use of its human resources to achieve its mission and support initiatives and projects in a manner that sets sustainability in mind in keeping with the seventeen goals of sustainable development approved by the United Nations Organization.
Inspiration and ambition, our DNA, are the drive to achieve our vision as we strive to be the deanship that manages initiatives and projects in a professional way with a sustainable impact.
The three vice deans of the deanship and its affiliated units are considered the main driver for this ambition,
Dr. Yousef bin Omar Al-Rashed, vice dean of Strategic Partnerships, and his team are responsible for building strategies for volunteer work and community partnerships.
Dr. Eshtiaq bint Abdulaziz Al-Faraj, vice dean of Community Service, and her team monitor and analyzes the efforts made in the colleges, deanships, and university departments. These efforts reflect a fruitful harvest that the university boasts internally and externally.
Dr. May bint Mohammed Al-Jamea, vice dean of Sustainable Development, and her team are responsible for raising the importance of awareness and implementing sustainability and its application in all scientific, research and societal plans.
