Course Description
Biogeography represents a basic topic of Ecological studies, which is concerned with the distribution of families, genera, and species of plants and animals in nature (i.e. within a province, country, or specific area) in both the past and present, with an emphasis on natural and human factors affecting the distribution of plants and animals, and the methods of preservation.
Course Objectives & Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Idntify biogeography, its divisions and areas, evolution and importance, as well as the role of biogeography relative to other sciences.
- Mention the emergence of living organisms and relevant views and theories.
- Identify the spread of organisms, main patterns of proliferation, and factors affecting the distribution of organisms.
- The classification of animal and plant kingdoms, and where the fundamental divisions occur.
- Recognize with terrestrial biological bands, their distribution, the most important components, the most important natural conditions and the human factors affecting them.
