Course Description
This course aims at introducing students to communications and networks fundamentals, tools and devices of communication and networks, and designing a local network. In addition, this course enables students to deal with local networks and its applications, and use networks in different sectors..This course includes introduction to networks, designing and modeling networks in terms of (network architecture and layers, , ISO TCP/IP forms for network architecture, network standards (ISO, ANSI, ITU-T, EIA, IEEE)). Moreover, it includes computer network components in terms of (personal computers, work stations, processing units, different communication channels), basics of digital communication, data channels (functions and access methods), designing LAN, examples of computer networks (Ethernet and Apple Talk).
