Course Description
The course provides the student with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude that would enable them to provide high quality nursing management for Medical-Surgical patients in both general medical and surgical wards. This is in addition to the different therapeutic modalities used for both medical and surgical patients. However, the student is expected to integrate knowledge derived from other courses taken previously or simultaneously.
The course also focuses on the application of nursing process and utilization of the concept of self-care in providing comprehensive nursing management for medical and surgical patients with special consideration to the maintenance of patients’ safety throughout care and promotion of home and community-based care.
