Course Description
The aim of this course is to train students to perform a comprehensive assessment for their patients and develop differential and/or definitive diagnoses for oral lesions. It will train the students to apply previous knowledge into dental practice. This will be done by correlating findings from the history, clinical examination, and other diagnostic tests. In addition, this course is designed to improve the students’ abilities on how to develop critical scientific thinking in order to make a correct diagnosis. The subjects covered in the didactic part of this curriculum are presented in the form of clinical issues to develop differential diagnoses using a comprehensive approach to patient care. Furthermore, case based learning is applied in the clinical part of the course where students have a chance to discuss the medical and dental history of a given patient. Emphasis will be on the clinical examination of cases.
