Course Description
Theoretical Content
This course is concerned mainly with the application of the famous phase rule to a number of examples. The phase rule is important when one is concerned with equilibria between different phases: phases, number of components, degree of freedom, the phase rule, one-component system, temperature-composition phase diagram of binary systems, and ternary systems.
Practical Content
Some experiments on temperature-composition diagram for zeotropic and for azeotropic mixtures, determination the critical temperature of partially miscible liquids, ternary systems.
