Course Description
This course focuses on integration of knowledge and skillsto provide high quality nursing management for clients with emotional and psychiatric problems in different health care settings. Emphasis on providing effective nursing care for clients with different mental disorders. The basic knowledge regarding the concept of mental illness, classification of mental disorders, clinical pictures and the treatment modalities will be emphasized.
The course presents concepts of nursing process as a framework for the psychiatric nursing care plan. In addition, the course strives to assist the student to promote mental health, to recognize and to prevent mental illness, and to participate in the restoration of mental health and rehabilitation of client who is emotionally ill.
