Course Description
This course is designed to assist the nursing student to understand and apply the basic principles of psychology as related to nursing. The course aims to introduce the student to the basic knowledge necessary for understanding human behavior. Emphasis is placed on the theories of personality and its nursing implications. Concepts underlying human behavior such as basic human needs, motivation, perception, attitude and intelligence are stressed. In addition, the course focuses on assisting the student to understand the psychological aspects of illness and hospitalization.
