Course Description
This course aims at introducing student to security concepts and principles, cryptography and security systems in operating systems in order to enable her to design and develop a safe system and manage networks through the knowledge of computer security procedures and fundamentals.
This course includes security fundamentals (concepts and principles, vulnerability, threat models and attacks to computer systems), database and networks cryptography (public key, private key, cryptography, authentication, digital signature, key management, cryptography protocols, and building secure systems), operating system protection (protection mechanism, operating system services, access control, UNIX security and windows NT security), network security (architecture and standards, authentication, access control, confidentiality, network management, Internet security, firewalls, computer security policy and procedures, and ISO security standards).
