Course Description
This course aims to study: the definition of the sociology of the family in terms of its subject matter, objectives and fields of study, the relationship of the sociology of the family with the other social sciences, the family as a social institution, patterns and functions of the family, the problems facing the family most importantly the problem of domestic violence, how to overcome these problems, children and the extent of their influence on the structure of the family and the pattern of relationships within the family, the family institution and its relationship to the other social institutions, family and social change the impact of change and technology on the family, the efforts of the community to address the problems of the family and childhood.
