Course Description

This course provides an introduction on the principles of drug design and the development of new therapeutic agents from prototype compounds with special emphasis on drug action at the molecular level. The following topics will be addressed: overview of drug design, discovery and development, targets for biologically active molecules, structure-activity relationships, isosterism, prodrug design and applications and drug metabolism.
