Course Main Objective

Learn about the most important geographic topics and the contemporary studies; differentiate among characteristics of such geographic topics and assess the impact of human behavior on phenomena of the studied topics and their effect upon him; how to employ tools, technology and means of Geography in studying and benefiting from latest developments and develop solutions to those problems that may result from.

  • 1.1 Define the basic concepts of different branches of geography.
  • 2. Skills
  • 2.1 Prove their knowledge of the geographic aspects within the Kingdom’s Vision2030, the geospatial information, the sustainable development, the blue economy, the dust storms in KSA and the Geographies of Fashion. 
  • 2.2 Use computer technology, the statistical programs, the GIS and remote sensing programs to perform some group and individual works.

  • 3.1 Appreciate individual and collective responsibility in studying modern and contemporary topics.

- Sectors of the blue economy with application to KSA as a model.
- Dust storms in KSA and their properties and reasons.
- Factors affecting the dust storms in KSA regions.
- Consequences of the dust storms in KSA and ways to handle.
- The touristic projects in the Kingdom- Neom Project as a model
- Capabilities of non-fuel energy in the Kingdom (at present and future): solar energy.
- Capabilities of non-fuel energy in the Kingdom (at present and future): wind energy.
- Youth emergence as a phenomenon in the Kingdom and the Arab societies.
- The geographies of fashion (clothes, fashion, fashion styles in time and space).
- The geographic factors affecting clothes and fashion and impact of rabid globalization on fashion industry.
