Course Description
This course encapsulates managerial accounting concepts and their use in business decisions, performance evaluation and planning and control. It examines the development and analysis of cost information for management use in decision-making and income determination.
Course Objectives
- Describe cost accounting as an information system that aid managers
- Explain conceptual framework(s) of management accounting
- Distinguish and evaluate various costing approaches
- Determine various cost elements in relation to the cost function
- Demonstrate accounting techniques used in planning, directing, controlling, and decision-making activities
- Explain cost-volume relationships and activity-based costing method
