Course Description
The course discuses operations managements topics including new product development, process design, demand forecasting, inventory and logistics management, lean operations, capacity planning, scheduling and quality management, & supply chain mechanism & strategies.
Course Objectives
- Differentiate between Operations management and SCM
- Describe elements of process design • Preform basic demand forecasting
- Demonstrate the use of EOQ and EPQ Inventory models
- Explains the elements of logistics management
- Describe approaches to lean operations
- Explain approaches to capacity planning
- Describe various stages involved in operations planning scheduling
- Explain the basics of quality management
- Explain basic supply chain mechanism and strategies and explain the role of various operations management models in managing a supply chain
