Under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the University of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal, the Deanship of Academic Development has presented nine prizes for 14 winners at the Taj Award of Excellence in the Deanship of Academic Development in 2023, where winners succeeded in achieving 20 standards, which are the current cycle criteria in two main categories focusing on active learning practices and the university graduate attributes.

The awards were conferred by Dr. Gazi Abdulrahman Al-Otaibi, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, acting on behalf of His Excellency the President. The ceremony occurred in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Saleh Alkathiri, the Dean for the Deanship of Academic Development, members of the Deanship’s Council and the Executive Committee of the Award, college deans, and faculty members. Additionally, the meeting served as the launching platform for the TAJ portal, a development undertaken by the Deanship of Communications and Information Technology.

The Vice-President of the University for Academic Affairs stated that the award's purpose was to promote best educational practices that enhance the quality of students learning and the quality of university outcomes and to recognize outstanding faculty members in their fields of specialization.

The Dean of the Deanship of Academic Development explained that the university had given special care and attention to the development of university education, including the empowerment, encouragement, and recognition of exceptional individuals, in line with the principles of the Kingdom's Vision 2023, the Human Capacity Development Program, and the University's Strategic Plan. The Dean said that the Award committee received 42 applications, subjected to a rigorous screening and evaluation process by a panel of experienced arbitrators. After interviewing the participants, the Deanship’s Council approved the winning applications.

  • Dr. Doa’a Mustafa Al-Iraqi and Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Sayed, College of Dentistry 
  • Dr. Fahd Mohammad Yaami and Eng. Rihan Jamil, College of Architecture and Planning
  • Dr. Labna Ibrahim Al Assam, College of Medicine
  • Savannah Mohamed Safadi, Nada Sami Sardi, and Nor Ibrahim Amir, College of Applied Medical Sciences in Jubail
  • Dr. Doa’a Ibrahim al-Jibri, College of Public Health
  • Shahad Salman Al-Asimi, College of Human Sciences and Studies of Jubail
  • Dr. Yahya Ali Al-Zahrani and Dr. Maher Mubarak Al Qaaimi, College of Applied Medical Sciences
  • Dr. Othman Khaled Alsabt, College of Sharia and Law
