Course Description

The general hydraulics of water structures will be presented in this course.  The students will learn about the flow through porous media, hydraulics and design of control structures (gates; valves; siphons intakes), drop structures (weirs; spillways), water retaining structures (walls and dams), water crossing structures (culverts; siphon aqueducts), fluid forces on submerged bodies, waves forces on off-shore structures along with the structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures.
