This course seeks to highlight the significance of safety management as a key part of an effective management of projects. The course introduces students to the standards for accident prevention, hazard identification, responsibility for compliance emphasized, and specific recommendations to overall improvement of health, safety, and outlines steps to reduce accidents on project site. The course lays emphasis on the effective tools needed for the development of a construction health and safety culture. It covers health and safety management issues related to engineering projects. More specifically, the course addresses accidents and their causes, safety cost categories, regulations, the role of management and workers, hazard analysis and reporting, and measuring safety performance.
