This course covers introduction to problematic geomaterials and ground conditions; geotechnical problems and failures; need and objectives of ground improvement, ground improvement methods and classification, Selection of ground improvement method; mechanical stabilization (shallow and deep compaction, preloading), drainage and dewatering, deep mixing and grouting; In situ ground reinforcement. It will also give and overview of the latest trends and applications of ground improvement.
