The aim of this course is to explain the principles and control strategy for air and also noise pollution. Sources and scales of air indoor and outdoor pollution. Effects of air pollution on human, animals, plants and structures. Atmospheric chemistry and photochemical smog. Ambient air sampling, measurement, and analysis. Air pollution monitoring. Air quality criteria. Emission and emission standards. Stack gas sampling and analysis. Dispersion of air pollutants. Emission inventory. Introduction to air pollution modelling. Understand the basic principles of noise pollution; Identify the significant factors affecting noise pollution; Indoor and outdoor sound Sources Apply analytical techniques to solve problems in noise pollution measurement and control; Noise management, reduction, and isolation. Design noise control devices. Noise standards and guidelines.
