Course Description
The course will cover the design and style developments of furniture as an important interior design component mostly through exploring European history. It surveys aspect of style, design, materials, finishes, ergonomics, structure and functionality through the historical development of furniture design. The course will also focus on the development of changing social norms and technologies on the furniture through history.
The class will be conducted through a series of lectures and student research presentations. Students are expected to conduct several written and visual researches during the course as assessments.
