Dr. Yaser is a Lecturer in the Department of Natural Products at the College of Pharmacy, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU), Saudi Arabia. He earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from King Faisal University (2013), an MSc in Medicinal Natural Products and Phytochemistry from University College London (2016), and a PhD in Pharmacy from Curtin Medical School in Australia (2025), where his research focused on the identification and quantification of bioactive constituents from medicinal plants and the investigation of their potential insulin secretagogue activities and toxicities in various cell culture models.
His specialty is in Medicinal Natural Products Chemistry and Drug Innovation, with a focus on discovering and characterizing bioactive compounds that could lead to novel therapeutics. He has published research on antidiabetic plant constituents, pharmacy practice, and drug–drug interactions in highly prestigious scientific journals. Dr. Yaser has also organized and participated in numerous scientific conferences both nationally and internationally, building strong academic and professional networks.
Alongside research and teaching in Natural Products, Clinical Nutrition, and Pharmacognosy, he brings strong leadership skills to his professional role. He has completed a Leadership Certification accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and currently serves as Chair of the Public Relations Unit at the College of Pharmacy, where he leads initiatives that enhance the college’s visibility, engagement, and impact.
Dr. Yaser is deeply committed to aligning his academic and leadership contributions with the IAU Strategic Vision 2025–2030, which emphasizes health, quality of life, innovation, and community engagement, as well as with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030. He is confident that he has much more to contribute in advancing pharmacy education, research, and community service, while driving innovation and excellence at both the national and international levels.
