Duties and tasks of General Academic Supervisor:

  •  Allocating hours for academic supervision to meet the guided students, discuss the challenges they face during study, and try to solve them in appropriate ways.

  • Helping students if they are facing difficulty in recording or conflicting with some subjects.

  • Holding a group meeting with the new guided students at the beginning of the semester

  • Holding regular group meetings with the guided students at the beginning of each semester and at the end of the midterm exams at least, listening to them and discussing with them their academic achievement and the challenges they pose for advice and suggestions.
  • Fill out the group counseling forms after each meeting
  • Studying the case of each guided student through the follow-up report - the academic record to ensure that each student is proceeding according to the study plan and to ensure his/her graduation within the regular period.
  •  Taking their suggestions, recommendations, and support ways.

Duties and tasks of the academic supervisor towards students who are about to falter:

  • Studying the case of each guided student through the follow-up report - the academic record - the academic information in SIS.
  • Organizing individual meetings with the guided student who are about to falter at the beginning of the semester to discuss the reasons for the delay and guide them to the best ways to improve their academic level to help them overcome their difficulties and achieve their successes.
  • Listening to their suggestions and the training and support they need to overcome their circumstances and problems
  • Develop a preventive plan for each guided student with the department's academic supervision coordinator, the head of the academic supervision unit at the college, and the student advisor if necessary.
  • Fill out individual counseling forms for the guided student after each meeting.
  • Monitoring and follow-up of students' academic progress through the follow-up report and study plan or through assignments and assessments.
  • Urging the guided student to attend the training courses and workshops in preventive counseling provided by the University Counseling Center to acquire some necessary study skills such as time management, planning, managing priorities.
  • Helping the guided student in preparing the proposed study schedule for the next semester according to the system and discussing the appropriate and available options such as changing majors, withdrawal, transfer, visit, apology, postponement, ... etc.
  • Preparing a file for each guided student that contains individual guidance forms, suggested courses for registration for each semester, and academic processes forms (withdrawal - postponement - apology...), which include the advisor's data and recommended recommendations, discussions, and discussions.

Duties and tasks of the academic supervisor towards faltering students:

  • Studying the case of each guided student through the follow-up report - the academic record - the academic information in the SIS.
  • Organizing individual meetings with the guided student of the faltering students at the beginning of the semester to discuss the reasons for the delay and faltering and guiding them to the best ways to improve their academic level to help them overcome their faltering and achieve success.
  • Listening to their suggestions and needs for training and support to overcome their circumstances and problems
  • Develop a plan for each guided student for what he needs in terms of training and psychological support, health, material and academic support in consultation with the academic supervision coordinator and coordination with the student advisor and head of the academic supervision unit at the college.
