Course Description
It is a clinical course in fixed Prosthodontics, which allows students to demonstrate their skills in examining, diagnosing, treatment-plan and complete the fixed prosthodontics treatment. It consists of didactic and clinical components. The didactic component covers the theoretical aspects of clinical fixed Prosthodontics while the clinical component involves treating patients requiring fixed prostheses.
Main Objectives
It is a didactic course with clinical component that allows students to demonstrate their skills in examining, diagnosing and treating advanced removable prosthodontics. The student is also familiarized with the clinical aspects , theoretical and technical aspects of maxillofacial prosthodontics .The primary goal of the course is to familiarize the student with the biological aspects of maxillofacial Prosthetics and their integration with clinical procedures to be taught in the successive clinical prosthodontic courses. The student is able to perform the different techniques required to fabricate advanced removable prostheses through teaching the principles applicable to construct special complete denture cases as flat or flabby ridges, immediate dentures, single dentures and overdentures. The student will be able to differentiate between different types of prostheses suitable for special needs encountered in various clinical cases.
