Course Description
This course on the desert environment is interested in the definition and concept of deserts, as well as the geographical distribution of deserts and the reasons for their emergence and distribution. The course also exposes students to the adaptations of desert plants and animals.

- An examination of how plant and animal samples have adapted to the desert environment.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Define desert and desert ecosystem.
- Identify physical and biological facors shaping deserts.
- Acquire knowledge of plants and animals adaptations in desert ecosystem.

- Specify climatic factors and the environmental issue of desertification.
- Understanding drought, and the variety of dry desert regions.
- Identify the desert plants and animals, and types of climate within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
