Course Description
In this course the ultrastructure of nucleic acids, both DNA and RNA, will be studied along with the history of their discovery and other experiences that have helped in the development of this science. A discussion regarding techniques that are used in molecular genetics and their benefits will also be included.
By completing this course , students should Know the following:
- Basis of molecular biology and genetics.
- The main concepts and building blocks upon which this science has been founded.
- Structure and function well as control of gene expression, as a major source of variation among individuals, species and genera.
- Both chemical and physical characteristics of the genetic material. E.
- Methods of gene transfer and gene cloning.
- Application of molecular biology in various fields.
