College of Arts Honors Excellence Award Winners at Its Annual Ceremony for Academic Year 1446 AH.
In the presence of the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Mashael Ali Al Okaly the college’s vice-deans, department heads, and faculty and administrative staff members, the College’s Development and Community Partnership Agency organized the annual honoring ceremony to celebrate the efforts and continuous dedication of its members during the academic year 1446 AH. The event began with a welcoming speech, followed by the Dean’s address, in which she praised the college’s staff and commended the pioneering achievements accomplished across various fields.
In her speech, Dean Dr. Mashael Al Okaly reviewed the most prominent accomplishments of the college during the year, emphasizing that the college successfully fulfilled its three main missions: education, scientific research, and community responsibility. Several college programs received local and international program accreditation, including the master's degrees in Arabic Language and English Language, as well as the bachelor's degrees in Geography and Geographic Information Systems, and Communication and Media Technology. Additionally, the college launched specialized academic programs such as the Bachelor’s in Tourism and Heritage Management, and a Higher Diploma in Museology in collaboration with the University of London and supported by the Ministry of Culture. She also noted that, for the first time, some college disciplines qualified within the QS World University Rankings for 2025. The college is keen on providing quality services to students, strengthening academic and community partnerships, supporting research and scientific publishing, and promoting cultural activities, all according to a well-studied strategic plan and an ambitious vision.
The ceremony featured a review of the most notable academic, research, and community achievements, including launching new academic programs, obtaining local and international accreditations, winning research and cultural awards, and the outstanding achievements of female students in university-level competitions. The college also honored retired faculty and administrative staff members, as well as distinguished individuals for their academic, administrative, and research contributions, in a gesture of appreciation and recognition. Furthermore, the college honored student council members, the Arts Student Club, the Nadim Media Team, and students who received awards at the university level.
The winners of the College of Arts Excellence Awards for the academic year 1446 AH were announced, covering the fields of teaching, scientific research, community service, and administrative creativity. The Excellence in Teaching Award was granted to Dr. Arij Hammad Al-Bawardi (Department of English Language) and Dr. Amira Muhammad Ahmed (Department of Communication and Media Technology). The Excellence in Scientific Research Award went to Dr. Shorouq Ismail Al-Sharif (Department of Sociology and Social Work), Dr. Alia Ibrahim Ammar (Department of Information Science), Dr. Munira Ali Al-Aqeel (Department of History and Heritage), Dr. Munira Qafal Al-Shammari (Department of History and Heritage), and Dr. Noura Muhammad Al-Omari (Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems). In the field of community service, Dr. Arij Muhammad Al-Rajhi (Department of History and Heritage) won the award. The Excellence in Administrative Creativity Award was presented to Ms. Tasneem Mansour Al-Huwaishil (Technical and Support Unit), Ms. Mariam Bakhit Al-Zamil (Public Relations Unit), and Ms. Nawal Saeed Asiri (Department of Arabic Language).
