His Excellency Dr. Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, inaugurated the university’s third strategic plan (2025–2030) in the presence of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Fahad bin Ahmad Alharbi, members of the Board, vice presidents, deans of colleges, and guests from government entities, partners of success, and members of the university community.

Dr. Al-Amoudi stated that amid the blessed qualitative transformation witnessed by the education sector in the Kingdom, the issuance of the Universities System marked a pivotal stage in the course of higher education. It established the principles of autonomy, governance, and flexibility, enabling universities to enhance their efficiency and activate their developmental roles in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, which has placed education at the heart of its ambitious national project.

In light of this pioneering system, the University’s Board of Trustees was formed in 2021 to serve as the faithful guardian of the university’s strategic compass, the guarantor of its performance quality, the supporter of its institutional excellence, and the reference for governance and direction of its decisions — all within a framework of transparency, accountability, and national commitment. Since its inception, the Board has been keen to perform its role with efficiency and responsibility, based on a clear vision and constructive integration with the university’s administration and all its components, out of its firm belief that institutional partnership is a fundamental pillar in building the present and shaping the future.

Over the past years, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University has succeeded in establishing its position among the elite universities locally and regionally, thanks to its distinguished education, scientific research, and effective community contributions within an academic environment rich with achievement and filled with ambition. This third strategic plan represents a mature reflection of an accumulated journey of progress — clear in its purposes, comprehensive in its dimensions, methodical in its structure, and aligned with the realities of the present and the challenges of the future — making it, indeed, a document of institutional transformation that elevates the university to higher levels of excellence and leadership.

His Excellency added that the essence of this plan does not lie only in its written goals but also in the deep belief in the university’s pivotal role in building individuals, creating knowledge, serving society, and fulfilling the requirements of development — moving toward the future with conscious vision, precise planning, and promising national energies. Accordingly, the Board of Trustees, while blessing this auspicious launch, reaffirms its commitment to being an active partner in governing this plan, monitoring its performance indicators, and providing an enabling environment for its success — achieving balance between aspirations and resources and realizing the desired impact, God willing.

We are certain that the success of this plan — after the grace of Allah — depends on your efforts, the university’s members and leaders, as well as its partners. It requires sincere determination, collective will, and meticulous implementation that turns goals into achievements and visions into tangible reality.

Prof. Fahad Alharbi, the University President, said in his speech that on this day, which marks a new chapter in the university’s journey of leadership and responsibility, the university is honored to launch its third strategic plan — a comprehensive, ambitious, and transformative plan that goes beyond modernization and development toward building a deeply founded future shaped by creative minds and led by inspiring national competencies.

He explained that the plan draws its components from the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030 and aligns with its major objectives to ensure the university’s leading position locally and globally, enhance its contribution to driving national development, and reflect its awareness of its responsibility toward a prosperous society, a vibrant economy, and a high-quality educational and human environment — advancing toward the nation’s aspirations for global recognition of Saudi universities.

The plan was launched with an ambitious vision for the university to be “A University Pioneering the Future”, serving as a key driver in the national transformation through a mission that reflects its core purpose: to prepare globally competitive human capabilities, produce enriching research and innovations, and offer impactful community contributions.

The features of this plan were shaped around an authentic institutional identity embodied in the concept of “Health and Quality of Life.” It is built upon three main pillars: Sustainable Impact, Empowered Competencies, Institutional Excellence

These pillars are translated into seven strategic objectives encompassing 39 initiatives executed and measured through more than 138 projects and performance indicators — all forming a roadmap to achieve the university’s ambitions, strengthen its local and international presence, and reinforce its balance between academic and research excellence and community impact.

The plan adopts a transformational approach across several key areas, most notably financial sustainability, human resources, academic programs, research and innovation, local and international partnerships, and supporting the economy through the creation of startup companies.

Prof. Alharbi concluded his remarks by extending his thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership of the Kingdom — may Allah preserve it — for its support, trust, and empowerment; to His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef Al-Benyan, for his guidance and follow-up on all the university’s affairs; to His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for his continuous support; to the honorable members, colleagues of the University Council, the Strategy Development Team, and everyone who contributed to building this blessed document.
