Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University has launched the innovation project "As’if" (First Aid) from the College of Design, with the support of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute. It is one of the community innovation initiatives aimed at empowering individuals to confidently and swiftly provide first aid in emergency situations through the intelligent design of a first aid kit that facilitates the handling of emergencies.
The smart first aid kit has been deployed in three elementary schools in Dammam City, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The launch event was attended by Dr. Mai Shoukry, Dean of the College of Design, Dr. Kholoud Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute, and the project team represented by Dr. Sara Al-Ghamdi, Dr. Dana Al-Hussain, and Ms. Dima Al-Muaibed.
The project embodies a model of the university’s active efforts to commercialize academic projects and transform them into tangible, impactful products. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute is gratefully acknowledged for its support in developing the project and its effective contribution to its success.
The project concluded with the organization of a specialized workshop held at the university, inaugurated by the Project Manager, Mr. Fahad Al-Anzi, who explained the future plan for the Es'ef project and the role of entrepreneurship in commercializing innovations and inventions.
The workshop also aimed to train school representatives on the effective use of the innovative first aid kit, enhance their readiness to handle various first aid situations within the educational environment, and raise awareness of the importance of practical training.
