Course Description
This course involves detail study of the comparative morphology and anatomy of vascular plants. It provides students with high level ofknowledge, expertise in plant morphology and anatomy theory and practice. The course includes the study of internal and external parts of plants and their modifications and relate plant morphology and anatomy to its function, as well as ecological effects on the morphology and anatomy of plants.
Practical content
Examination of microscope slides and specimens (living and preserved) presented in lab. Comparative study of Fresh samples of different plants (roots, stems, leaves, and flowers).
Course Objectives & Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify tissue organization in roots, stems, and leaves.
- Study the morphological and anatomical advances in vascular plants.
- Identify the floral morphology and anatomy.
- Identify how differences in climate affect plant morphology and anatomy.
- Examining the microscope slides and specimens (living & preserved) presented in lab.
