Conclusion of the Innovative and Impactful University Teaching and Learning Practices Forum at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University 2025.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the Innovative and Impactful University Teaching and Learning Practices Forum, organized by the Deanship of Academic Development, came to a close. The forum was inaugurated by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Fahd Ahmed Al-Harbi, with the participation of more than 20 presenters, 40 participants in discussion groups, and an audience of over 300 faculty members from various disciplines. The forum aimed to enhance collaboration and interaction among faculty members, fostering the exchange of innovative ideas and perspectives that contribute to the advancement of university education. The opening session also included the recognition of 22 academic departments distinguished in the results of the national assessments.

In his speech, the University President welcomed the attendees and participants to the university, stressing that the forum represents an important opportunity to showcase leading educational innovations, highlight the directions of academic programs, and review the impact of teaching and learning practices on higher education. He praised the outstanding performance of Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University across all disciplines evaluated in the national assessments, noting that this achievement reflects the clarity of the university’s strategic plan aligned with Saudi Vision 2030–2025. He emphasized the plan’s focus on leadership in educational excellence, the sustainability of quality teaching practices, and positioning higher education as a fundamental pillar for the nation’s future, preparing generations capable of meeting contemporary challenges and keeping pace with global developments. He further noted that the forum focuses on advancing university education through the presentation of modern teaching practices and effective learning strategies, extending his appreciation to the Deanship of Academic Development and the forum’s committee for their efforts in preparation and organization, and thanking all speakers, participants, and attendees.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Alkathiri, Dean of the Deanship of Academic Development, explained that Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University continues to host its annual forum on developing university education, attracting distinguished participation from academic leaders and faculty members from within and outside the university. He pointed out that the forum addresses the rapid developments in higher education practices and aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He stated that the forum’s sessions discussed several pressing issues, including artificial intelligence in higher education, interdisciplinary learning, and modern teaching practices. He added that the forum showcased diverse academic experiences, featured extensive discussion sessions, and included presentations that highlighted the most prominent educational innovations. He emphasized that the forum was distinguished by honoring the academic departments that excelled in national assessments, noting that the forum complements the university’s strategic plan and reflects its future direction toward strengthening academic and research excellence and educational innovation. He further mentioned that the Deanship has launched several key initiatives in partnership with more than 25 Saudi universities.

In conclusion, Dr. Alkathiri affirmed that the forum’s recommendations are being compiled and shared with the relevant authorities and decision-makers, helping transform them into actionable initiatives that enhance the quality of educational outcomes.
