College of Arts Opens the “Eighth Graduate Day” Exhibition in Celebration of Its Distinguished Graduates.
The Dean of the College of Arts at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Dr. Mashael Al-Okaly, inaugurated the “Eighth Graduate Day” exhibition, in the presence of the Director of the Alumni and Career Development Center, Dr. Amani Al-Bahr, the Vice Dean for Development and Community Partnership, Dr. Abeer Al-Jafari, and a few of the college’s leaders. The exhibition showcased broad participation from the college’s students and graduates through 20 booths, whose diverse themes reflected the graduates’ applied skills and professional knowledge directly linked to labor market requirements.
In the Department of Arabic Language, several booths highlighted the vital role of the Arabic language in contemporary fields. The Arabic Language and Entrepreneurship booth presented the importance of linguistic identity in building entrepreneurial projects and crafting marketing messages, while the Arabic Language and Digital Technologies booth offered a vision of Arabic within modern technological spaces, artificial intelligence, and its applications in supporting linguistic identity in the digital world.
The Department of English Language presented its contributions under the theme “After Graduation: How English Shaped Our Paths,” showcasing graduates’ experiences in applying their language skills across various professional fields—whether in education, administration, or entrepreneurship—while highlighting how academic knowledge contributed to shaping their career trajectories and enabling success in real-world work environments.
In the Department of History and Heritage, the participants presented knowledge-rich content reflecting the depth of national identity, including a booth featuring Saudi archaeological sites listed by UNESCO, and another highlighting Saudi identity as a culturally influential dimension in the tourism and heritage sector.
The Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) offered a series of booths demonstrating the role of technology in addressing environmental issues and spatial analysis. The participants explored the relationship between urban expansion and vegetation cover using satellite images, the role of tree planting in mitigating environmental impacts, projects identifying optimal locations for green canopies, geospatial technologies in building smart and sustainable cities, enhancing the tourism experience through GIS, the role of mapping in cybersecurity, and predicting areas prone to rainwater accumulation through spatial modeling.
In the Department of Sociology and Social Work, the booths focused on developmental and social aspects of graduates’ work, including professional consultations and guided career pathways, booths dedicated to social innovation and social entrepreneurship and their role in achieving sustainable development, a booth introducing professional opportunities in the nonprofit sector, another presenting a digital transformation initiative supporting persons with disabilities, as well as a booth documenting inspiring experiences in volunteerism and social responsibility.
The Department of Information Science presented a knowledge booth combining the academic identity of the discipline with its professional extensions, offering knowledge guides illustrating the impact of information science in the labor market and the key skills graduates need to excel in this field.
In the Department of Communication and Media Technology, graduates presented booths highlighting the department’s career pathways, addressing public relations in the digital environment, the roles of professional journalism in today’s media landscape, and diverse experiences of graduates who forged distinct career paths in communication and media fields.
The exhibition was organized by the Alumni and Career Development Unit under the Vice Deanship for Development and Community Partnership at the College of Arts, reaffirming its role in supporting and empowering the college’s graduates, providing practical platforms to showcase their skills and projects, and strengthening professional connections between graduates and employers—reflecting the quality of the college’s programs and their capacity to prepare graduates highly qualified for the labor market.
