Fellowship In Otorhinolaryngology

Overview

IAU fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is a five-year training program, emphasising on residents’ competencies in the field of basic knowledge, physical examination, communication, and surgical skills.

Training will be reinforced,and will be conducted under the direct supervision of general and subspecialized otolaryngologist faculties, maintaining high level of competencies at regular intervals. The program offers the expertise of world-renowned faculty representing the full range of subspecialty areas, including: general and pediatric otolaryngology, facial plastic, head and neck oncology, laryngology, otology and neurotology, rhinology and skull base surgery. It is also worth noting that we are strongly committed to research in our residency curriculum and to supervise the progress of residents’ research projects throughout the residency program.

The foremost objective of the (IAU-ORL-H&N) fellowship program is to graduate competent, well-trained residents who are capable of functioning independently and able to provide the highest level of care to their ear, nose, and throat (ENT) patients.

Standard documents requested

1. Applicant should meet all university requirements for acceptance.
2. Applicant should hold an MBBS degree from IAU or a university recognized by IAU with an average of Good (GPA of 3.5 and above).
3. Saudi Medical License Exam (SMLE).
4. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
5. The applicant should provide a certificate of completion of one-year internship from IAU or an institution recognized by IAU.
6. Medical registration or valid document from employer testifying good standing.
7. A certificate from the applicant’s recent employer should be submitted, which should indicate his /her performance level.
8. Letter of consent to join program from employer.
9. Not less than two letters of recommendation from faculty or consultants that the student has previously worked with.
10. Personal interview.
11. Medical fitness.
12. Good Conduct.

Admission Grade Distribution

• Saudi Medical License Exam (SMLE) 35%.
• Grade Point Average (GPA) 20%.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) 15%.
• The total score of the above admission categories must be >80 % to allow the applicant to set for the personal interview.
• Personal Interview 30%.
