Admission The applicant must hold a master's degree in linguistics from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education, with a GPA of no less than “Very Good.” If the applicant holds a Master’s degree from a university other than Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, they must have completed a Master’s thesis, demonstrating their academic research skills. The applicant must have completed at least 4 out of the following 6 courses in formal linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. The applicant must obtain a minimum score of 7 on the Academic IELTS test. A written statement outlining the applicant’s academic goals must also be submitted. Two academic letters of recommendation must be submitted from faculty members familiar with the applicant’s research skills and academic performance. The applicant must pass both the written examination conducted by the department and the oral interview.
