Goals

The program aims to prepare special educators and teachers to be qualified theoretically and practically, and whom will be described as: 

1. To prepare scientifically and practically qualified teachers and specialists according to the standards of relevant national and international bodies to perform various teaching, training, applied research, and necessary interventions for individuals with learning disabilities.
2. To meet the needs and desires of many bachelor's degree graduates in special education, Arabic, mathematics, and other academic disciplines who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in the field of learning disabilities.
3. To develop the specialized knowledge and skills of learners in the field of learning disabilities by keeping up with modern educational developments in various special education and support services.
4. To encourage local and international cooperation agreements by creating opportunities for partnerships and twinning to develop teaching methods and scientific research.
5. To enhance the competence and competitiveness of graduates by developing their cognitive, perceptual, numerical, and communication skills to meet the needs of the job market in this field.
6. To serve the community and keep pace with development by educating, training, and raising awareness about the characteristics and educational needs of individuals with learning disabilities.

• The student must meet the general admission requirements for Saudi universities as per the regulations of studies and exams.
• The student must meet the specific admission requirements for Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University as determined by the university's council for each academic year.

The student must meet the specific admission requirements for the program, which are as follows:

1. The applicant should be a graduate of the College of Education or hold an educational diploma.
2. The applicant must have a minimum grade of "Good" in their bachelor's degree.
3. Priority for admission to the program will be given to specialists in the field of learning disabilities (Bachelor's in Learning Disabilities or Diploma in Learning Disabilities).
4. The student must pass the written exam determined by the department.
5. The student must pass the personal interview conducted by the department.
6. The applicant must have a minimum score of 70 on the general abilities’ tests for university students.

   

For a student to obtain a master's degree, the following requirements must be met:

1. Successfully complete all program courses with a minimum overall grade of (Very Good) with a GPA of (3.75 out of 5).
2. Achieve a cumulative GPA of not less than 3.75 out of 5.
3. The duration for obtaining a master's degree should not exceed eight academic semesters.
