Mission
To qualify distinguished specialists in chemistry by providing comprehensive knowledge, a stimulating environment for innovation and research, and essential professional skills empowering them to contribute to the development of advanced materials, sustainable solutions in environment and health, and future economies through scientific and computational advancements .
Goals
To achieve excellence in performance efficiency through developing the educational and administrative staff and their effective participation in community service.
To provide advanced chemistry courses that foster the development of students' practical, analytical, and research skills including instrumentation and computational modeling while preparing them for specialization in specific areas of chemistry.
To develop scientific research that contribute to the community development through the formation of research teams of various specializations and establishing the relationship with related sectors.
To contribute to the development of research laboratories to carry out distinguished and pioneering scientific research.
The Program Philosophy
The master program in chemistry emphasizes acquiring knowledge and critical thinking skills essential for understanding and analysing environmental issues, as well as the national priorities
for research, development, and innovation, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of human life. The educational philosophy at IAU emphasizes a learner-centred approach combined with experiential learning principles. Similarly, the educational philosophy of the MSc in Chemistry program is founded on critical education and cooperative learning, ensuring alignment with the university's overarching philosophy.
Central to this philosophy is a significant emphasis on research and inquiry-based learning. Through practical experiences with research methodologies, data collection, analysis, and interpretation, students develop essential skills to investigate and address complex environmental issues. Ultimately, the program seeks to empower students as autonomous lifelong learners, researchers, and educators, capable of contributing meaningfully to Saudi Arabia's sustainability strategy .
