Welcome to the Vice Deanship for Development and Community Partnership at the College of Applied Medical Sciences – Jubail (CAMSJ). Our primary aim at the vice deanship’s office is to support the dean’s mission in creating a stimulating environment for students to thrive and enable competent professionals as they join the workforce in the three bachelor's programs currently running at CAMSJ: Anesthesia Technology, Neuroscience Technology and Respiratory Care.

At the office, we keep in contact with our students even after they step out of the door of CAMSJ and IAU. We aim to provide our alumni career development advice and opportunities and take their overall reflections and feedback into consideration as we delve into accreditation processes. We try our best to facilitate the accreditation processes in coordination with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation; we continuously work on maintaining quality assurance systems that facilitate teaching and learning. We support our faculty and staff skill’s development, as we consider them all life-long and self-learners.

Finally, and one of the exciting endeavors we work on is the bridge we create between the CAMSJ family and the community via the social responsibility bank. All community services coming from students, faculty and staff are counted hours through the community service e-gate at IAU. We also create volunteer opportunities via the national volunteer work platform.

Units

1.     Quality & Accreditation Unit (Documentation & Information)

The unit strives to keep Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle moving at CAMSJ; here we focus on academic accreditation and ensure Quality Assurance Systems are in place at CAMSJ to serve the three functioning programs, our students, faculty and staff. The unit gathers, organizes, and stores hard and soft copies of the college materials; also maintains coordination with the Documentation Center at IAU, when needed. The archive system is categorized into 4 sections (academics; administration; requests and finances). Each section is divided into confidential and non-confidential documents.

2.     Information Technology Unit

This unit focuses on keeping the  CAMSJ website and faculty profiles updated annually. The unit also launches an IT survey to ensure user satisfaction. Finally, it is also given the task to follow up on the completion of the annual college report with other vice deanships and administration at CAMSJ.

3.     Community Service Unit

The unit focuses on activating community partnership in Jubail and the surrounding area. We encourage all, at CAMSJ, to log in their community hours via IAU’s social responsibility bank with the three main components: teaching and learning (curricular and non-curricular); research (social studies & research); community service (developmental projects & community services). We also create volunteer opportunities for CAMSJ’s community and elsewhere via the national volunteer work platform (https://nvg.gov.sa/).

4.     Professional Development Unit

This unit examines the need for faculty training and development via collaborations with several deanships at IAU and connects faculty to in-IAU- and out-of-IAU learning opportunities (i.e., creative common online education platforms such as EdX, Coursera, Skillshare, etc...). The unit annually follows-up on faculty and staff's e-portfolios and via Reflections survey that they work towards each academic year. Finally, some leisure and self-care activities are carried out throughout the academic year for faculty and staff.

5.     Alumni Unit

This unit strives to keep the connection with the college graduates. The unit continuously updates the alumni database information via the vice deanships at CAMSJ prior to their graduation and the Alumni Center at IAU. We also collaborate with the Alumni center to provide career development advice and workshops. We receive feedback and reflections on overall student experiences and assess the required skills for the workforce by communicating with stakeholders and finally host annual alumni meetings.
