TabsOverviewThe Emergency Medical Care (EMC) specialisation is one of the most prominent modern healthcare fields, aiming to provide urgent and life-saving care during critical moments. This program equips specialists with the knowledge and skills to handle emergency medical cases and sudden injuries, whether in the field or during patient transport to medical facilities. The importance of emergency medical care specialisation lies in saving lives by providing emergency care based on the latest scientific foundations by utilising the most advanced devices and technologies available to deliver optimal care to patients. It also enables rapid intervention in the field, using land, air and sea transport methods to deliver acute care before the patient arrives at the hospital, thereby increasing the chances of survival. Additionally, EMC specialists play a fundamental role in disaster and crisis management to minimise their adverse impacts on human health and life. The Department of Emergency Medical Care was established at the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in 2014 (1435 AH). To date, it has graduated over 180 highly skilled EMC specialists who provide top-quality emergency medical care to patients, relying on the latest scientific methods to contribute to saving lives. The program spans four years, followed by an internship year for training in various hospitals across the Kingdom. Upon completing the graduation requirements, graduates receive a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Care.
