The Vice dean for Development and Community Partnership at the College of Business Administration is concerned with enhancing institutional development pathways and improving the quality of academic and administrative performance in accordance with internationally and locally accredited standards. The Agency adopts developmental initiatives and builds effective strategic partnerships with community institutions and both the public and private sectors.

The Agency also seeks to activate the College’s role in community service, align its outputs with labor market needs, and support training and consultancy programs, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development and enhancing the College’s community impact.

Sustainable Development Unit

The Sustainable Development Unit is a supportive entity to promote the concepts of sustainability and their integration in the academic and administrative environment by spreading awareness of sustainable practices and enabling the students and the faculty staff to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of sustainable development and the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and the unit seeks to integrate the principles of sustainability in education, scientific research and community activities by launching initiatives and awareness programs, building partnerships with the relevant authorities, and developing quality projects that enhance social responsibility and environmental and economic efficiency. A generation of leaders and entrepreneurs who are able to make responsible decisions that strike a balance between economic growth, resource conservation, and social well-being.

Social Responsibility Unit

The Community Responsibility Unit seeks to develop and modernize the work system within the College by promoting a culture of community engagement, aiming to deliver high-quality community services. The Unit also aspires to enhance the concept of community responsibility among its affiliates and to invest available capacities in alignment with the College’s vision, mission, and objectives derived from the University’s goals, in order to achieve the desired integration within and beyond the University.

The Unit’s activities involve faculty members and students from all College departments to implement qualitative community programs with the participation of all College affiliates.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a supporting unit for community partnership by serving as a liaison between the affiliated entity and the Community Partnership Administration regarding the activation of community partnerships at the University, the implementation of related policies and procedures, and follow-up on all updates and official circulars issued in this regard.
  • Link the supporting unit with the departments of its affiliated entity.
  • Submit the annual operational plans for community partnership related to the affiliated entity at the beginning of each academic year.
  • Submit the annual report of the supporting unit at the end of each academic year.
  • Attend periodic meetings organized by the central unit at the Community Partnership Administration.
  • Cooperate with the Community Partnership Administration in activating established community partnerships with various sectors and documenting their outputs.
  • Obtain comprehensive training on electronic platforms in coordination with the concerned units within the Community Partnership Administration.
  • Provide knowledge-based and technical support to affiliates of the supporting unit’s entity regarding community service and the use of relevant electronic platforms.
  • Address the needs of affiliates of the supporting unit’s entity to enhance their role in community partnership through training workshops and awareness sessions.
  • Maintain full knowledge of the procedures for issuing reports and performance indicators documented on electronic platforms, and ensure compliance with quality and accreditation requirements related thereto.
  • Monitor the entity’s performance indicators on electronic platforms and work to enhance its engagement in community service.
  • Identify challenges and obstacles that limit the activation of community partnership within the affiliated entity and work to overcome them.
  • Launch qualitative initiatives to enhance community partnership at the College.

Achievements

  • Coordination of virtual (online) workshops delivered by the Community Responsibility and Volunteer Work Administration, targeting academic and administrative staff, with the aim of enhancing awareness of community responsibility concepts.
  • Delivery of a virtual (online) workshop directed to college students to clarify their role in the concept of community responsibility and enhance their participation.
  • Preparation of a Guidance Manual for the Community Responsibility Bank Platform, based on the outcomes of workshops and awareness presentations provided by the Community Partnership Administration, with the aim of supporting users and improving the efficiency of platform utilization.

 

 

Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit

The Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit aims to promote a culture of quality among faculty members through the implementation of effective management strategies and by encouraging participation among faculty, staff, and students in decision-making processes. The College strives to maintain continuous improvement across all activities and to align them with quality standards, rankings, and national and international accreditation requirements.

The Unit works on developing operational improvement plans for undergraduate and graduate programs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in quality management within the College. Progress toward continuous improvement is measured through the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking practices. In addition, the Unit engages external stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of quality management processes within the College.

This collaborative approach aims to strengthen quality principles in academic operations and to graduate outstanding cohorts of students who meet labor market requirements and align with Saudi Vision 2030.

Unit Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate with Vice Deans and Heads of Departments to implement quality orientation programs for newly appointed faculty members and staff.
  2. Follow up on and review documentation related to eligibility requirements for national and international accreditation, and develop appropriate plans for program reviews in accordance with accreditation standards.
  3. Coordinate with the Training and Consultancy Unit at the Deanship of Quality to provide training programs and workshops in line with the requirements of the University’s academic and administrative units.
  4. Monitor procedures and results of surveys to ensure completion by students, faculty members, and other stakeholders at the end of each academic semester.
  5. Coordinate with academic programs within the College to obtain independent feedback and oversee its implementation.
  6. Prepare academic programs for external reviewers’ visits from academic accreditation bodies and supervise the process.
  7. Oversee the preparation and implementation of action plans addressing the recommendations of external review teams for academic programs, and monitor and follow up on their execution.
  8. Assist academic programs in preparing initial self-evaluation reports, supervise the implementation action plans, and review supporting evidence.
  9. Prepare and supervise academic programs before and during external accreditation review visits.

Voluntary Work Unit

The Voluntary Work Unit under the Vice Deanship for Development and Community Partnership at the College of Business Administration is one of the prominent community initiatives. It aims to promote a culture of volunteerism and enhance social responsibility among students, faculty members, and administrative staff through organizing, documenting, and disseminating qualitative programs and initiatives that contribute to community service and the development of participants’ skills, in alignment with the University’s vision and national development objectives.

Leadership in empowering university volunteer work to serve as an active contributor to community development, fostering a balanced student personality, and engaging the expertise of university members both within and beyond the University.

Mission

To organize and develop sustainable volunteer opportunities that refine the skills of students and staff, promote the values of giving and belonging, and build impactful community partnerships.

  • Promote the culture of volunteer work within the College.
  • Develop leadership, social, and professional skills for students and College staff.
  • Link the College outputs with community needs.
  • Support national and humanitarian initiatives.
  • Document volunteer hours for students and faculty members in accordance with approved regulations.

  • Document participation and volunteer hours and issue volunteer certificates.
  • Coordinate with internal and external entities to implement initiatives.
  • Follow up on the Vice Deanship email regarding volunteer requests and respond when necessary.
  • Establish volunteer teams across various academic departments.
  • Form volunteer teams based on students’ diverse skills and interests.
  • Create diverse volunteer opportunities suitable for all members of the community and promote them effectively.
  • Establish a database for volunteers from the entity’s members.
  • Conduct selection among applicants according to the requirements of the announced opportunity and the entity’s needs.
  • Introduce volunteers to the entity and clarify their rights and duties.
  • Provide formal apologies to non-accepted applicants and inform them of the reasons for non-acceptance.
  • Ensure that the volunteer opportunity coordinator introduces volunteers to all details of the opportunity and provides foundational training.
  • Ensure that the volunteer opportunity coordinator honors volunteers with certificates reflecting their achievements and diversifies recognition methods.
  • Grant the volunteer opportunity coordinator the necessary authority to prepare, follow up, and train volunteers when required.
  • Manage the entity’s volunteer opportunities account by extracting performance statistics and preparing monthly and annual reports.
  • Attend periodic meetings organized with the supervising authority.
  • Request supporting photographic documentation for volunteer activities before, during, and after implementation and upload it to the platform.
  • Respond to inquiries related to the platform.
  • Promote the culture and importance of volunteer work within the College for students and staff through periodic workshops and meetings with external entities.
  • Implement initiatives that serve the entity and support the volunteer orientation.

  • Establish an accurate and well-organized system for maintaining records and reports, ensuring ease of access and retrieval.
  • Systematically document all academic activities and practices at the College in accordance with approved mechanisms and templates, contributing to showcasing academic efforts, supporting quality and academic accreditation requirements, and strengthening institutional memory.
  • Standardize report preparation templates and procedures in alignment with quality and academic accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and regular updating.
