Academic Promotion (AP) is a program that enables undergraduate diploma holders (two academic years or more) from a governmental higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education to continue their studies in a bachelor's program for a period ranging from 2.5-3.5 years, including the internship period.

The academic-promotion program aims to raise the students’ scientific efficiency and increase their opportunities of success in scientific disciplines and fields that are considered an extension for the students’ specialization at the university diploma stage.

In order to enable diploma holders graduated from Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University colleges like Community and Applied Colleges, as well as graduates of other governmental higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the university provides admission opportunities to APs in several disciplines, according to the accredited conditions and standards.
