About the Vice Presidency

The Vice Deanship for Development and Community Partnerships at the College of Engineering, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, serves as the driving force behind the College’s journey of quality and continuous development. It plays a central role in embedding quality standards, ensuring academic accreditation, and establishing effective systems for monitoring and improving performance in line with both global and national directions. The Vice Deanship also anticipates and manages risks to provide a safe and stable educational and research environment. 

On another front, it focuses on strengthening the College’s presence in society by building strategic partnerships with various sectors, contributing to community service and human capital development. Special attention is given to alumni through tracking their career paths, supporting their opportunities in the labor market, and maintaining continuous engagement with the College, which positively impacts the advancement of academic programs. 

The Vice Deanship also highlights the College’s image and achievements through public relations and institutional communication channels, reinforcing its standing locally and internationally. Furthermore, it keeps pace with evolving educational methods by launching initiatives and specialized programs for professional development and lifelong learning, aimed at enhancing the skills of students and faculty members alike. Through this comprehensive role, the Vice Deanship forms an integrated framework that drives the College toward academic and societal leadership and the achievement of its strategic goals. 

Objectives

  1. Achieve the highest standards of academic quality and ensure institutional and program accreditation. 
  2. Engage the college in community activities that address engineering challenges and enhance social responsibility. 
  3. Build partnerships with external sectors to promote cooperation and integration. 
  4. Provide training programs and workshops for faculty and staff to strengthen quality and excellence culture. 
  5. Develop a safe and healthy environment within the college to promote safety awareness and prevention. 
  6. Enhance the college’s image locally and internationally through public relations and media outreach. 
  7. Strengthen alumni relations and activate their role in supporting academic and community programs. 

Tasks

The Vice Deanship’s committees contribute through the following key tasks: 

  • Supervising the implementation of quality and accreditation standards and monitoring academic performance indicators. 
  • Promoting a culture of safety within the College and ensuring compliance with international safety standards. 
  • Organizing community initiatives and enhancing the College’s participation in volunteer and service activities. 
  • Following up on alumni career paths and organizing employment and training events to strengthen their connection with the College. 
  • Documenting the College’s achievements and activating communication and media channels internally and externally. 
  • Building and developing strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors to support academic and research programs and contribute to community service.

Vice Deanship for Higher Studies and Scientific Research

About the Vice Presidency

The Deanship is concerned with updating the college's programs for graduate studies and creating new ones compatible with the labor market and the Kingdom's vision 2030. It also seeks to raise the level of scientific publishing in terms of quantity and quality through the .research of faculty members published in the international journals

Objectives

  • Improve the effectiveness of academic research to meet the requirements of development.
  • Encourage excellence and innovation in scientific Research and products of higher studies.
  • Raising the rates and satisfaction of academic staff.

Tasks

1- Implementation and follow-up of the college policy for postgraduate studies and scholarships.
2- Supervising the preparation and review of admission requirements for postgraduate studies.
3- Supervising the operations of postgraduate studies in the college, its exams, and its committees.
4- Supervising the activities and developing capabilities of the college in the field of scientific research
5- Supervising financial support for research from the university and funding bodies outside it
6- Receiving and following up the department's needs of researchers, faculty members, and teaching assistants in different disciplines.
7- Supervising the follow-up of the conditions of the college scholarship students abroad.
8- Receiving the files of graduate students applying to the Deanship of Graduate Studies and distributing them to the various departments in the college.
9- Receiving departmental decisions regarding graduate student applications and sending them to the Deanship of Graduate Studies after being approved by the College Council.
10- Coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university and other research institutions about conducting research and obtaining support for it.

Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs

About the Vice Presidency

The College of Engineering Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs (VDAA) oversees the progress of the teaching and learning process in the departments during the university study stage, in implementing the approved regulations, policies and programs related to the students’ affairs, supporting the educational services and realization of the objectives prescribed for it. The College of Engineering VDAA also seeks to achieve academic excellence for the faculty members by following state of the art scientific methods in teaching and learning strategies. The College of Engineering VDAA is in charge of building an academic environment that motivates high quality continuing education and creativity that should guarantee production of highly qualified graduates in knowledge, professionalism and ethical commitment in order to serve the Kingdom vision 2030

Objectives

The objectives of the College of Engineering Vice Deanship for Academic Affairs are as follows:
1- Endeavor to realize the University’s vision and mission which is reflected in attaining excellence and leadership in the field of teaching and learning.
2- Improve of the College academic programs that are responsive to the total quality standard.
3- Improve the qualifications of academic and administrative cadres through continuing professional development and training.
4- Provide an attractive learning environment that motivates creativity, innovation and excellence.
5- Empower and enable engineering students to acquire knowledge, understanding and skills to become efficient professionals who go to great length to develop their expertise on an ongoing basis.
6- Cooperate with the government and privet sectors in the Kingdom for development of the quality training for the students in all specialties of the college.
7- Promote and upgrade the performance efficiency of the units associated with the CoEVDAA.

Tasks

1- Supervise the implementation of the executive rules and regulations pertaining to the studies and examinations of the university stage.
2- Prepare the study schedules for the students of the academic divisions and coordinate with the other colleges in cooperation with the Dean for Admission and Registration and the study schedules committee.
3- Distribute the students to the various divisions of the college in coordination with the divisions.
4- Implement the application and reinforcement of the admission and transfer controls form and to the college and between academic divisions.
5- Supervise the progress of the examination, formulation of their committees in coordination with the academic divisions and the admission and registration deanship.
6- Supervise the study curricula equivalence process in accordance with the pertinent rules and decisions.
7- Supervise applications by students for the postponement of study courses as well as the deletion and addition processes of the graduate study stage in accordance with the pertinent rules and decisions.
8- Prepare the deprivation, disqualification and graduation lists.
9- Direct and orient students and resolve the problems related to academic acquisition in cooperation with the university Guidance and Orientation Center.
