Transfer From Another University

This is a process where a student transfers from their university to another university in accordance with specific regulations during a period of time determined by the university's Council.

Ends: 04/07/2024 (28/12/1445 AH) at 2pm.

Time Table to Transfer process to the University

Required Documents

  • The applicant should have an official academic transcript that is sealed by the deanship of admissions and registration at their university.
  • The transcript should be up to date.
  • The transcript should have the applicant’s current semester record and status (regular - withdrawn - postponed). If the information is not in the transcript the applicant should attach a letter to prove their academic status.
  • The documents should be scanned and attached as a PDF to the transfer application.

Terms of Students Transfer to IAU from other universities:

  1. Applicant must not be dismissed, discontinued, or withdrawn from another university.
  2. Applicant must be enrolled in the same transfer program.
  3. Applicant must be enrolled in a Saudi governmental university.
  4. Applicant enrolled in private university are eligible only if his/her university is fully accredited by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), EXCEPT for health colleges.
  5. Applicant from international universities is eligible only if his/her university is recommended by Saudi Ministry of Education, EXCEPT for health colleges.
  6. Applicant must have completed at least one academic year (two semesters or above) in his/her current universities and has achieved 24 credit hours or more. 
  7. Applicant should have completed all courses of the preparation/foundation year that is equivalent to minimum courses spotted by the standing committee of educational systems and curricula with accordance to the college recommendations. 
  8. Transfer application must be submitted by the students online during dates announced by Deanship of Admission and Registration considering that any out-of-date application will be rejected. And a recent official transcript stamped by the student's university must be attached in order to review the student academic status. 
  9. The applicant must meet any additional terms perceived by the college council.
  10. Applications will be reviewed by a committee chaired by the dean of the corresponding college or its vice-dean for academic affairs with participation of two faculty members among experts of the college. 
  11. Applicant must not be a former student from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University.
  12. Applicant must be Saudi or non-Saudi whose mother is Saudi where other applicants of 5-years cards or GCC citizens are treated per the procedures of scholarships regulation approved by Saudi Ministry of Education.
  13. Transfer to the shared first year programs or preparation/foundation year program is not acceptable. 
  14. Applicant must be enrolled in a similar college where suitable specialty will be determined by the college per available seats.  
  15. Applicant transferring to College of Medicine and College of Dentistry must complete full academic year after completing courses of the first year with achieving at least 24 credit hours plus the first-year total credit hours.
  16. Accumulative GPA must not be less than 3.75/5.0 or 2.75/4.0 for Medicine and Dentistry, and 3.5/5.0 or 2.5/4.0 for other colleges.
  17. The corresponding college council has the right to exempt the applicant from the minimum accumulative GPA conditions as per below criteria:
    • Reasons forcing the applicant to transfer to IAU with proofing documents (father death- divorce- marriage- shifting of the student custodian out of the student study place)
    • Accumulative GPA must not be less than 3.0/5.0 or 2.0/4.0 
    • Approval of the corresponding college council at IAU.
  18. Transfer submission occurs once a year before the beginning of new academic year.
  19. Transfer application will be canceled and admitted applicants will be dismissed if his/her record confirms s/he had been dismissed previously for disciplinary reasons or behavioral punishment.
