Applicants should have obtained a baccalaureate degree in any engineering discipline with a cumulative grade in accordance with Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University rules and regulations. The applicant should have taken at least one year of math and basic science (basic science includes the biological, chemical, or physical sciences), as well as at least one-and-one-half years of engineering topics and a major design experience. Applicants with baccalaureate degrees (engineering) that did not fully meet the above the requirements may be directed by the program’s management board/committee to take extra course(s) from the Department of Basic Engineering Sciences to cover areas of deficiency. The extra credit will not be counted as part of the total credit required for program completion. A minimum of 500 in TOEFL or its equivalent is required from the candidates to demonstrate their English Language proficiency level. However, for applicant who does not have the test score for the TOEFL or its equivalent; and has met all other admission requirements, the status of the admission application will be decided accordingly by the program’s management board/committee. Course loads and success in the program: The program consists of six core courses, four elective courses, and an engineering graduation project. A minimum grade of C+ is required to pass any course. The duration of the program: If the candidate failed to finish the required 42 credit hours, the candidate will have an exit point with a Higher Diploma in Safety Engineering provided the candidate has completed 24 credit hours."
